ATAK for aid organizations

During first aid duty, searches and relief missions abroad, your teams see the same map, even where there is no network. The ATAK-CIV app is free; you pay for setup, training and, if you want, operation.

Where there is no network

During a search in the forest or after a disaster, there is often no mobile network. Small mesh radios then pass positions and messages from device to device, and the maps are stored offline on the smartphone.

We only use EU-compliant, CE-marked radios on 868 MHz. As soon as there is a network somewhere, a gateway connects the mesh to your server.

Typical scenarios

First aid duty

First aid posts, patrols and vehicles are on one map. The incident lead sees which team is closest to a reported patient.

Missing person searches

Search areas are divided up and completed areas are marked, so search dog teams and the drone pilot can see where the search still has to go.

Missions abroad

You take maps and documents with you offline as a data package. On site, the map shows shelters, distribution points and hazards, even without a local network.

Civil protection with partners

With federation you share the joint picture with fire services and authorities, for example care centers and casualty collection points.

  • Federation

ATAK has completely revolutionized the way we coordinate and plan our operations, and it has greatly increased the safety of all of us.

How to get started

For a local chapter, a single unit or a pilot project, a server and a few smartphones are enough. If several branches or partners work together, we connect their servers through federation.

Frequently asked questions

Is your question missing? Call us or write to us.

Can volunteers use their own smartphones?

Yes. ATAK runs on Android, iTAK on the iPhone. Every device gets its own certificate, which you can revoke at any time. For field use we also supply rugged devices that are ready to use.

Does ATAK work on missions abroad?

The app and offline maps work anywhere. Mesh radio is subject to the radio regulations of the country you are in. Our devices are designed for the EU (868 MHz, CE). For missions outside the EU, we check with you in advance what is permitted.

How much does it cost to get started?

ATAK-CIV and TAK Server are open source, and iTAK and WinTAK are free. You pay for setup, training and, if you want, operation. In the free initial consultation, we give you a range for your project. Costs and process

Can we work with fire services and public authorities?

Yes. If both sides have a TAK Server, they share selected data through federation. Each organization keeps its own server and decides what it releases.
