ATAK for the military and armed forces
ATAK was developed for the armed forces. We train your soldiers and administrators, build the TAK Server infrastructure and hand it over to your unit, which then runs the system on its own.
What we do for armed forces
Do you build sensors, drones or radios for armed forces? We connect your systems to ATAK with a plugin so your customers see them in their situation picture. Plugin development for manufacturers

Bundeswehr
Introducing ATAK in the Bundeswehr
ATAK has not been officially introduced in the German Bundeswehr. Interest among the troops is growing anyway, and the push often comes from the ranks: at the tactical level in particular, a shared situation picture offers major advantages.
What is often missing is the first formation to take on the introduction in a structured way. We support you in that step:
- A pilot in one battalion or formation
- User training and train-the-trainer courses for your instructors
- TAK Server infrastructure handed over to your administrators

Handover
Your system, run by your unit
We set up the TAK Server on your own infrastructure, in your data center or as a mobile server in the field. We train your administrators to run it, then hand over the keys. Your unit operates the system on its own and does not depend on us or any other company.
- Certificates, groups and accounts set up
- Admin training as part of the handover
- Documentation for your operations
- Further support by agreement
Share the picture with partners
Cursor on Target (CoT)
Positions, markers and sensor data travel in the open CoT format. Systems from other manufacturers can connect through it as well.
Federation
Your TAK Server shares only the data you release with the servers of other units or partners. Each side keeps its own server.
Certificates and groups
Every device signs in with its own certificate. Groups control who sees which picture, and you can block a lost device centrally.

Origins
ATAK comes from the military
ATAK was developed for the US Department of Defense at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Today the TAK Product Center of the US government maintains the software. Fire services, police and aid organizations work with the civilian version, ATAK-CIV.
Military versions such as ATAK-MIL are reserved for the armed forces and come through their official channels, not through us.
Our founder Marcel Neuroth is a former soldier and an Afghanistan veteran. He knows the daily routine of a military unit from his own experience.
Frequently asked questions
Is your question missing? Call us or write to us.
Are you allowed to work for the armed forces?
Yes. We work for armed forces in Germany and abroad and with companies in the defense industry. You obtain the military version of ATAK through your official channels. Training, setup, integration and plugins come from us.
Do you run the system, or do you hand it over to our IT?
We recommend the handover: we build the system on your infrastructure, train your administrators and hand over access and documentation. From then on, your unit runs it. If you later want support or want us to run it, we agree on that separately.
Can you develop plugins for military applications?
Yes. We develop ATAK plugins for sensors, drones, rangefinders and radios, for example, and adapt them to every new ATAK version. We estimate the effort after the first consultation.
